Biography

Kyoka Matsuzawa is a Japan-born sound artist, composer, and artist-researcher based in Zurich. She is currently studying the MA Composition and Theory, Electroacustic Composition at Zurich University of the Arts @zhdkcampus. Her work explores the relationship between sound, perception, and environmental change, with a particular interest in disappearing soundscapes and acoustic environments. 

Combining spatial audio, installation, and neuroscience-informed approaches, she develops works that connect artistic practice with scientific research, including transforming environmental and biological data into sound. 

Her work has been presented internationally at festivals, museums, and research platforms across Europe, Asia, and North America.
